The Penticton Vees, a team from the Canadian league of British Columbia (BCHL) where he has played for two seasons with a haul of 27 points in 42 games, have announced that forward Stefano Bottini will play from the 2022/23 season in the top US university championship (NCAA), where he will wear the jersey of Canisius College of Buffalo.
The 19-year-old, who grew up in the HCL youth sector up to the U20 category and has dual Swiss and Canadian citizenship on his mother's side, will thus continue his brilliant North American adventure in New York State.
Under the nickname Golden Griffins, Canisius College is part of the NCAA Atlantic Division and plays its games in Buffalo near the Buffalo Sabres' rink.
Among the most famous players who have worn the 'Grifoni' colours is Cory Conacher. The current Bern striker was the team's top scorer in the 2009/10 championship.
