Hockey Club Lugano announces that it has signed forward 'left' Shane Prince (181 cm. x 87 kg.), born on 16.11.1992 in Rochester (New York State), until the end of the 2021/22 season.
With only a few hours to go before the closing of the last possible market window, in light of several injuries sustained in the Regular Season and some current uncertain situations in this regard among the forwards, the bianconera company decided to further protect itself for the decisive phase of the season in the offensive department.
Drafted in the 2nd round in 2011 by the Ottawa Senators and a top scorer at the youth level in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) with the Ottawa 67's, Prince made his NHL debut with two appearances in the 2014/15 season.
Between the 2012/13 and 2017/18 seasons, he played a total of 139 NHL games (15 goals, 27 assists) with the Ottawa Senators and New York Islanders and 217 AHL games (69 goals, 84 assists), where he wore the colours of the Binghamton Senators and Bridgeport Sound Tigers.
After a 16-game interlude in Switzerland in 2018 with Davos, Prince came to prominence in the KHL (175 games, 51 goals, 69 assists), first with Sibir Novosibirsk, then for two seasons with Dinamo Minsk and in this championship with Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg (33 games, 17 points).
Shane Prince will be available to Chris McSorley's coaching staff as soon as the usual procedures for obtaining a work permit have been completed.
