On Tuesday, August 23, about fifty members of the Golden Wings Club (GWC) ofHockey Club Lugano enthusiastically attended the traditional and exclusive team and staff preview night before the new season.
An appointment that is a much appreciated "classic" for members of the club's largest support group bianconero. Just as a "classic" is now the venue for the event: the Fishermen's Grotto in Caprino.
In this fantastic lakeside setting and on an evening kissed by summer weather and the light of a starry night, the entire roster of the first team, the technical staff led by Chris McSorley and several HCL executives shared the pleasures of the table with the guests, conversing amiably about field hockey but also about much more.
After GWC President Andrea Gehri's speech, Hnat Domenichelli individually introduced the many newcomers to the house bianconera.
From the three new Finnish foreigners Koskinen, Kaski and Granlund, to the Canadian Bennett, from the prodigal son Andersson, to the talented Marco Müller, from young Gerber and Patry to rookies Mini, Bedolla, Cortiana and Zanetti.
Domenichelli spoke about the upcoming championship, describing it as the second best in the world after the NHL and highlighted the desire of the entire group to do well. TheHockey Club Lugano wants to play an important role in National League 2022/2023.
The evening ended with the always fascinating re-boarding of the motor boats and certainly christened the new year for the Golden Wings Club HCL in the best possible way.
