TheHockey Club Lugano announces that it has signed a contract valid for the next five seasons (2024/2029) with defender "right" David Aebischer (180 cm. x 83 kg.), born on 09/26/2000 in Heitenried (Canton Fribourg).
He grew up in the youth sector of Fribourg, where he 17-year-old in the 2017/18 season was the best defender in the U20 Elit league by number of points (40), Aebischer then experienced the North American youth leagues, wearing the Gatineau Olympiques (QMJHL) jersey for two championships (107 games, 11 goals, 52 assists).
After returning to Switzerland, he played in the 2020/21 season with the Burgundians the first part of thethe championship before be part of the Ajoie team that won the Swiss League and promotion to National League.
From 2021 Aebischer wears the colors of the Lakers where he has progressively established himself as a key element of the team, as evidenced by his average minutes: 19:35 last season, 20:41 in the current season, where he is the player with the most ice time for the St. Galleners.
With the Swiss national team, Aebischer has competed in two U20 World Championships and was on the track seven times last year under the orders of Patrick Fischer.
