With regard to the disturbances that occurred at the end of the derby between HCL and HCAP played on September 29, 2023 at the Cornèr Arena, theHockey Club Lugano announces that in recent days it has proceeded to notify those concerned of 16 stadium bans and 4 written warnings for violation of the Order and Security Regulations of National League. The decisions are the result of painstaking work on viewing video surveillance and television images, identifying the perpetrators of sanctionable behavior, and the difficult work of collecting the personal data necessary for valid notification of those involved.
The stadium bans extend from two to three years depending on the severity of the misconduct, which in the specific case involves brawling, rioting, violence and threats against security personnel, incitement to violence, use of force against physical integrity, damage to property, and access to areas of the stadium not open to the public. Stadium bans apply throughout Switzerland and apply to all ice hockey and soccer games, national and international, in all leagues and game categories, in all stadiums and their perimeters.
TheHockey Club Lugano would like to point out in this circumstance as well that neither the Order and Security Commission nor any other body of National League has requested the opening of proceedings against the club for the events of September 29, 2023 at Cornèr Arena.
