On the occasion of the team farewell on Saturday, April 6, starting at 11:00 AM at the Capannone behind the Casetta Gialla, Hockey Club Lugano will pay a special tribute to Julian Walker, who, after twenty seasons in the National League and eleven consecutive championships with the black-and-white jersey, has decided to end his playing career.

With his grit, natural leadership, and self-sacrifice for the good of the team, "Jule" has been a true warrior on the ice and a true team player in the locker room over the years.

Arriving in Lugano in 2013, the 37-year-old forward played 502 championship games with HCL (60 goals, 69 assists), making him the thirteenth player with the most appearances in the club's history.

Twice a playoff finalist (2016, 2018) and capped 90 times for Switzerland, he played in three World Championships, winning the silver medal in 2013 in Stockholm.

Able to excel in adversity, Walker has proven to be an essential element for team cohesion over the years, playing with tenacity, especially in special situations like penalty kills, and scoring crucial goals for the team's progress.

Saturday's event will be the perfect opportunity for the club and its fans to celebrate his achievements.
