Santeri Alatalo: A Story That Continues

Among the most skilled and spectacular Swiss-licensed defenders in the National League, Santeri Alatalo has renewed his contract with the Hockey Club Lugano until the end of the 2026/27 season.

Having grown up in Finland until the age of 22, the 34-year-old Tampere native moved to Switzerland for the 2012/13 season.

After eight seasons in Zug, crowned by a Swiss championship title in 2021, Alatalo is currently playing his fourth high-level season at the Cornèr Arena, with an average ice time close to nineteen minutes per game.

His personality, skating, elegance, and game vision are key assets for Luca Gianinazzi's team and will certainly continue to be so in the near future.

Throughout his career in the Swiss top league, Alatalo has played 647 games, scored 56 goals, and contributed 222 assists for a total of 278 points.

He has also represented the Swiss National Team 42 times after obtaining Swiss citizenship in 2021.
