The game at the Cornèr Arena on Friday, January 17, 2025, between Lugano and Davos will focus on raising awareness about rare genetic childhood diseases.

The Lugano team will take to the ice wearing a special white jersey featuring the handprints of children from the HCL youth sector, the “Tutti in gioco” project of the Raggruppamento San Bernardo (an inclusive initiative involving children with disabilities), and players from the first team.

The green, purple, and blue handprints symbolize rare genetic childhood diseases globally. The artistic aspect of creating these unique jerseys was overseen by Naike Monti, a plastic arts teacher and former player of the Ladies of Lugano.

Each jersey is a one-of-a-kind piece and will be auctioned on ricardo.ch from 12:00 on January 17, 2025, to 12:00 on January 26, 2025. Proceeds will go to the Rare Genetic Diseases Association via the Telethon Foundation. Funds will support affected individuals with medical aids, home care, transportation, and recreational activities.

The ceremonial puck drop will feature Beatrice Reimann, operational manager of the Rare Genetic Diseases Association, and Dr. Alessandra Ferrarini, a medical genetics specialist with Swiss Medical Network, an HCL medical partner.

HCL President Vicky Mantegazza stated:
"With this initiative for rare genetic childhood diseases, HCL continues its tradition of supporting individuals facing serious health challenges. Last year's breast cancer fundraising was a success, and I hope these colorful and lovingly crafted jerseys inspire generosity among our fans."

Donations to the Telethon Foundation can also be made year-round via ccp account 10-16-2, online pledges, SMS, or QR Code.
