Starting from the 2025/26 season, Hockey Club Lugano and its fans will welcome back, after ten years, a player who trained in the club's Youth Section from the Novices age group, debuted in the NL with the bianconeri at sixteen, and with subsequent experiences in Davos and Zug, has entered the ranks of the country's best forwards. Last May in Prague, he won the silver medal with the Swiss National Team. HCL recently signed an agreement with forward Dario Simion for the 2025/26 championship and the following five seasons (2025/2031).

Born in Avegno on 22.05.1994 (189 cm x 88 kg), Simion played his first three National League seasons with Lugano under Fischer before answering Arno Del Curto's call. After his time in Graubünden (2014-2018), where he won his first national title in 2015, Dario is about to enter his seventh consecutive season with Zug, with whom he won the Swiss championship in 2021 and 2022.

An exemplary professional for his work ethic from a young age, Simion has followed a growth path in his career, combining technical and athletic skills with on-ice leadership qualities that have made him a winning player and will make him a key element for the team during his time in Lugano.

With his contract in Zug expiring in April 2025, he has already decided to define and communicate his intentions for the future, choosing the sporting prospects and values of Hockey Club Lugano among the various proposals on the table.

Dario Simion's numbers in fifteen National League seasons highlight his consistent high-level performance: 690 games, 166 goals, 162 assists, 328 points. The Valmaggese winger has played in four World Championships, one edition of the Olympic Games, two U18 World Championships, and three U20 World Championships with the Swiss National Team.

These are the words of General Manager Hnat Domenichelli:

“Dario is a player of great character. He will be an important leader in our team of the future. His work ethic, professionalism, and dedication make him one of the best Swiss forwards in our league. We look forward to welcoming him back to Lugano in the 25/26 season.”

Dario Simion expressed himself as follows:

I am very happy and grateful to Lugano for allowing me to continue my career where I was able to start competing with the greats. Lugano is heading in a direction I like, and I strongly believe we can achieve important goals. In today's market, choices must be made in advance. Now I am focused on my seventh season in Zug and will give 100% for a club where I am having a great experience. Then, next year, I will return to where it all began.
