HCL thanks Krupp, Törmänen and eight departing players

As part of the usual end-of-season meetings currently taking place, Hockey Club Lugano General Manager Janick Steinmann has informed head coach Uwe Krupp and six players whose contracts with the HCL will expire on April 30, that the club has decided not to offer them a renewal.

The players concerned are goaltender Adam Huska, defenseman Valtteri Pulli, and forwards Mark Arcobello, Daniel Carr, Radim Zohorna and Aleksi Peltonen. As previously announced, defenseman Leandro Hausheer and forward Marco Müller will also leave Lugano to pursue their careers elsewhere.

Hockey Club Lugano would like to thank each of these individuals for their time in black and white and wishes them all the best in their future careers.

A special thank you goes to Uwe Krupp, who took over as head coach on January 14, 2025, following the dismissal of Luca Gianinazzi. In an increasingly delicate sporting, mental, and emotional environment, Krupp managed to unite the group and lead the team to a hard-fought safety with his experience and human and technical qualities.

Gratitude also goes to Antti Törmänen, who ends his role as Senior Advisor. His expertise and sensitivity provided important support to the coaching staff and the club following the departure of Hnat Domenichelli.

Mark Arcobello and Daniel Carr conclude their time in black and white—two players who deserve a special mention for having played an important role in the team over five seasons, particularly for their offensive contribution. The 36-year-old American, who wore the captain's “C” from 2020 to 2023, played 279 games for Lugano, recording 222 points. The 33-year-old Canadian appeared in 185 games, scoring a total of 155 points.

During the season-end event on Saturday morning starting at 11:00 at the Casetta Gialla, HCL fans will have the opportunity to say goodbye to Krupp, Törmänen and the eight players who concluded their journey with HCL after the victory in the playout series against Ajoie.
