The headquarters of the Winteler Group, with the new AMG Performance Center in Giubiasco dressed up for the occasion, hosted the gala dinner jointly promoted by the Golden Wings Club (GWC) of Hockey Club Lugano and the HC Lugano Academy Foundation on Wednesday, February 15, 2023.
The evening set a new record for the event, now in its eighth edition, with the participation of over three hundred people, including political authorities, business and financial leaders, sponsors, sports executives, and supporters.
A great success marked by the net proceeds of 90,000 francs that the HC Lugano Academy Foundation, led by the new president, Attorney Massimo Pedrazzini, was able to donate to the Youth Section of HCL, the final beneficiary of the gala.
This amount was made possible also thanks to the silent auction of two items that captured attention: a limited edition F1 AMG Petronas carbon racing bike to be tested on the road with a champion like Fabian Cancellara and a necklace entirely handmade in 18 KT yellow gold with 22 precious stones, presented by Luxury Dream Services of Lugano.
Elegantly conducted by Sandy Altermatt, the evening was an opportunity to present Luca Gianinazzi, a current example of how training within the youth sector can be a stepping stone not only as a player but also as a coach.
Interviewed with grace and sensitivity by journalist Rachele Bianchi Porro, the 30-year-old head coach of the Bianconeri first team recounted the milestones and some anecdotes of his still-young career and spoke about the values that inspire him in his profession, talent and discipline, and managing group dynamics.
These were the words of Andrea Gehri, president of the Golden Wings Club (GWC) of HCL: "I am extremely satisfied with the success of this event, which has now achieved significant status in our Canton. The last edition was held just a few days before the pandemic began, and finding such a prestigious and extremely generous audience to support the youth movement fills me with enthusiasm for the future."
