The Charity Game played at Cornèr Arena on January 17, 2025, between HC Lugano and HC Davos, dedicated to raising awareness for rare genetic diseases in children, successfully raised over 11,000 CHF.
The funds were collected through the auction of special jerseys worn for the occasion by Thürkauf and teammates. These unique jerseys featured handprints from children in the HCL youth sector, participants of the “Tutti in gioco” project from Raggruppamento San Bernardo, and first-team players, making them truly one-of-a-kind.
The entire amount will be donated to the Telethon Foundation, which funds research on rare diseases and directly supports the Rare Genetic Diseases Association. This organization provides financial aid and recreational activities for individuals affected by rare genetic conditions such as neuromuscular diseases, cystic fibrosis, Marfan syndrome, retinitis pigmentosa, and neurofibromatosis.
