The first summer sun kissed Lugano over the weekend and brought the joyful news that all black-and-white fans had fervently hoped for.
Calvin Thürkauf has informed the club of his decision to continue wearing the Hockey Club Lugano jersey.
To the delight of the entire black-and-white family, from fans to management, from the technical staff to teammates, the 26-year-old captain has chosen to continue his journey at the Cornèr Arena, which began in 2022, without waiting for possible developments in the North American market.
Last season's top scorer (61 games, 68 points), Thürkauf will continue to bring his leadership, character, and skills to the ice in service of Luca Gianinazzi's staff, thus honoring the agreement that binds him to the club until 2029.
This is the captain's message to black-and-white fans:
"Dear black-and-white fans, with great pleasure I have decided that I want to continue my adventure in Lugano and remain your captain! I can't wait to get back on the ice of the Cornèr Arena and meet you all. Forza Lugano!"
