Hockey Club Lugano announces the signing of Finnish forward Aleksi Peltonen, with a Swiss license, on a contract valid until the end of the 2024/25 season. Aleksi was recently released from his contract with Davos.

Aleksi, born on June 8, 1998, in Helsinki (178 cm x 81 kg, “left”), is the twin brother of black-and-white defenseman Jesper, the son of Ville Peltonen, captain of the 2006 championship team, and the nephew of Esa Peltonen, a legend of Finnish hockey.

Raised like his twin in IFK Helsinki, he soon left the "nest," spending nine seasons in North America between 2014 and 2023.

First at Northwood School, a high school in Lake Placid that prepares students for university, then in the youth leagues of the USHL and NAHL, and finally for four years at St. Lawrence University in New York State (108 games, 41 points), where in 2021 he won the NCAA university title and was the team captain in the 2022/23 season.

Having joined Davos in the summer, he has played 12 games so far with the Grisons team, unintentionally affected by a bureaucratic issue due to the lack of authorization to take medication for diabetes treatment.

Aleksi will arrive at the Cornèr Arena during the day tomorrow.

These are the words of General Manager Hnat Domenichelli:
"Aleksi is an interesting young player who can help us in the offensive department where numerous injuries have reduced the number of available players."
