L'Hockey Club Lugano reports that Giovanni Morini, who was hospitalized last night after a violent impact against the rink-end balustrade during the second half of the game against Geneva, suffered a fractured femur in his right leg.
The unfortunate No. 23 striker will undergo surgery in the morning to reduce and synthesize the fracture.
His sports season should unfortunately be considered ended prematurely, and more information on the timing of his return to competition will be known at the next X-ray checkup.
The family bianconera sincerely wishes "Gigio" good luck in his rehabilitation phase.
As for goalkeeper Niklas Schlegel, however, he will undergo instrumental examinations later this afternoon to assess the extent of his muscle injury.
