On the 29th of February 1964 on Rapperswil's rink, the HCL finally reached the coveted promotion in LNB thanks to a clamorous purchase campaign with the signing of Elwin Friedrich and Roland Bernasconi, both national players and already Swiss champions with Villars. Among the heroes of that game a great fifteen years old talent who would make history at Lugano: Alfio Molina!
Great was then the shock for Ambri supporters when Lugano overcame their rivals in the Swiss Cup: the game was decided in overtime with a goal by Moretti. Ambri's revenge in the championship is however terrible: 13 to 2! To date the clearest affirmation in the long history of derbies.
